Food stamps project
Today, for the first time in history, SNAP (food stamps) has run out of money and stopped providing food to the people that need it.
Starting Monday, I will be interviewing people who depend on SNAP. My goal is to find out how much food they have left, find out when they’ll run out of food, and see if they’d be willing to participate in my documentary by letting us film in their homes. I want to film their last meal and then their first meal after the shutdown ends.
I will also interview Tamar Manasseh, who is running the Tiny Kitchens project, which aims to feed people in need during the lapse in SNAP funding.
I will be directing and producing this project. I’m going to find someone else to write the script and edit it. This project probably won’t be out until 2025.
I hope everyone takes notice of the current situation. If you want to donate to Tamar’s hunger project, you can do so here.
